How Sengatz Transformed Our Brand Typography into a Bold Statement

A Fresh Look for Our Bakery Packaging

We were updating our bakery packaging and wanted something that felt modern but still had character. Our old font was clean but forgettable. I had heard about Sengatz from a fellow designer and decided to give it a try for our new product labels. Right away, it added a bold presence that made our brand feel more confident and intentional.

What Makes Sengatz Stand Out

Sengatz is a display font, which means it’s designed to grab attention. It’s not the kind of font you use for long paragraphs, but it shines in headlines, logos, and packaging titles. The letterforms are strong and dynamic, with just the right amount of personality to feel unique without being overwhelming. It has a bold visual character that feels both modern and timeless.

When we used it on our bakery boxes, it gave the brand an elevated look. It wasn’t just about being loud—it was about being memorable. The way the letters sit together, with clean lines and balanced spacing, made our packaging feel more professionally designed, even though we’re a small local business.

Using Sengatz Across Brand Materials

Once we saw how well it worked on packaging, we started using Sengatz more widely. It became the main typeface for our logo, thank-you cards, and even our Instagram story templates. Each touchpoint started to feel more connected. That visual consistency made our brand feel more trustworthy to customers.

For example, our thank-you cards now have a handwritten-style font paired with Sengatz for the greeting. The contrast between the soft script and the bold display font gave the design a personal yet polished feel. Our customers started noticing the care we put into our presentation, and that made a difference in how they perceived our brand.

Typography Matters More Than You Think

Typography is often overlooked by small business owners, but it plays a huge role in first impressions. A well-chosen font like Sengatz can elevate your brand and make it feel more professional. It affects how people read your message, how they remember your brand, and even how likely they are to engage with your content.

We saw this firsthand when we redesigned our café menu. Switching to Sengatz for the section headers made the layout feel more intentional. It helped guide the eye and made the menu easier to scan. Even though the content stayed the same, customers said it looked more organized and appetizing.

Best Uses for Sengatz

Because Sengatz is a display font, it works best in short bursts. It’s perfect for logos, headlines, packaging titles, and social media graphics. We found it worked beautifully on candle jars and boutique tags, where space is limited but impact matters.

It’s not ideal for long blocks of text or small print, so we always pair it with a clean sans serif font for body copy. That contrast gives our designs both structure and personality.

Design Tips for Using Sengatz

When using Sengatz, keep readability in mind. On small labels or mobile screens, make sure the font size is large enough to be legible. We tested it on product mockups before printing anything and made slight adjustments to spacing and kerning for optimal clarity.

Also, check the font files included. Sengatz comes with multiple styles and alternates, which gave us flexibility in design. It supports multilingual characters and includes ligatures, which was important for our international customers. And since we use it across both digital and print materials, having a commercial license made it easy to implement without legal concerns.

Pairing Sengatz with Other Fonts

One of the keys to using a bold display font like Sengatz is knowing how to pair it with supporting typography. We often combine it with a minimalist sans serif for body text, which keeps the design from feeling too heavy. For more elegant applications like thank-you cards or gift tags, we pair it with a script font to balance the boldness with softness.

Font pairing is all about contrast and harmony. Sengatz brings the energy, and the supporting font brings clarity and balance. It’s a simple but powerful way to make your brand identity feel more cohesive and intentional.
