Amazing Books: A Handwritten Font That Elevates Small Business Branding

A Fresh Look for a Cozy Café Menu

It was time for our local café to refresh their menu design. The owner wanted something warm, approachable, and just a little bit whimsical—something that matched the vibe of their community-focused space. After testing a few options, we landed on Amazing Books, a clean yet quirky handwritten font created with a brush pen. The result? A menu that felt both professional and personal, drawing customers in with its friendly tone.

What Makes Amazing Books Stand Out

Amazing Books is a display font that brings a sense of playfulness and authenticity to any design. It’s a handwritten font that looks like it was carefully penned with a brush, giving it a soft, organic texture. It’s not overly casual like some script fonts, nor is it stiff or formal. This balance makes it ideal for small businesses that want to feel approachable while still looking polished.

The font has a clean structure with just enough character to make it memorable. It works especially well for short phrases, headlines, and brand accents—perfect for logos, packaging, or social media graphics where visual impact matters.

From Labels to Logos: Real Business Uses

We used Amazing Books not just for the café menu but also for their new coffee sleeve design and social media templates. The font’s strong visual identity made it easy to create a cohesive look across different materials. For example, the café’s new seasonal latte label used Amazing Books for the flavor name, paired with a simple sans serif for the description text.

Why Typography Matters for Brand Perception

Typography is more than just choosing a pretty font—it’s about shaping how customers see your brand. A well-chosen typeface can make your business look more trustworthy, memorable, and professional. Amazing Books helped the café feel more personable without sacrificing clarity or quality.

Fonts like this work especially well for small businesses because they help create a visual identity that stands out. Whether it’s on a candle jar, a boutique tag, or a digital ad, a good display font can turn a simple design into something that customers recognize and remember.

Readability Tips for Real-World Use

While Amazing Books is perfect for headlines and short text, it’s best used in larger sizes where its brush-pen texture can shine. For small labels or mobile screens, keep it to a few words at a time. We found that using it for titles or accent text worked best, especially when paired with a clean supporting font.

For printed packaging, make sure the font is at least 12pt or larger to maintain legibility. In digital formats like Instagram stories or banners, use it for bold titles and promotions, not for long paragraphs. It’s designed to grab attention, not to carry long-form content.

Font Pairing Ideas for a Balanced Design

One of the easiest ways to make a brand feel more professional is by pairing fonts thoughtfully. With Amazing Books, we often used a clean sans serif like Montserrat or Lato as a supporting font. This created a nice contrast between the playful headline and the clear, readable body text.

For a more elegant look, pairing it with a light serif font worked well for thank-you cards and boutique tags. And if the brand had a more modern edge, a minimalist sans serif gave the design a fresh, contemporary feel without clashing with the handwritten charm of Amazing Books.

What to Check Before Using Amazing Books

Before using any commercial font, it’s important to check what’s included in the license. Amazing Books comes with multiple styles, including alternates and ligatures, which can add variety and customization to your design. Make sure the font supports the languages you need and includes formats compatible with both print and digital tools.

Also, test the font across different platforms—Adobe Illustrator for packaging, Canva for social media, or Figma for web banners—to ensure it renders clearly and consistently. A good creative font should work seamlessly across your brand’s visual assets.
